Sultan of Oman and Turkish President Hold Talks in Ankara

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Türkiye held an official session of talks today at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, focusing on strengthening the longstanding historical ties and exploring new avenues for cooperation and investment between their nations.

The two leaders discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations across various sectors, with an emphasis on mutual interests and aspirations. They also exchanged views on regional and international political developments, underlining the importance of close collaboration on shared concerns.

The session was attended by senior Omani officials, including HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court; Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister; Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office; Abdussalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority; Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion; and Saif bin Rashid Al Jahwari, Ambassador of Oman to Türkiye.

On the Turkish side, the meeting was attended by Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Treasury and Finance; Yaşar Güler, Minister of Defence; Mehmet Fatih Kacir, Minister of Industry and Technology; Ömer Bolat, Minister of Trade; Mehmet Hakimoğlu, Ambassador of Türkiye to Oman; Fahrettin Altun, Head of Communications of the Presidency; and other senior Turkish officials.

The talks highlighted the strong partnership between the two countries, with both leaders expressing their commitment to furthering economic, trade, and investment opportunities, as well as fostering deeper cooperation in various fields of mutual interest.
