Qatar and Hungary Strengthen Bilateral Ties During Talks in Budapest
Budapest, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, held productive talks yesterday with Hungarian Prime Minister H.E. Viktor Orban in Budapest. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation and expanding ties across various sectors.
Prime Minister Orban welcomed Sheikh Mohammed and his accompanying delegation, expressing hope that the visit would further strengthen the relationship between Qatar and Hungary. He also conveyed Hungary’s appreciation for Qatar’s mediation efforts in Gaza, which played a key role in securing the release of prisoners and detainees.
In return, Sheikh Mohammed expressed gratitude for the warm reception and highlighted the robust foundations of Qatar-Hungary relations. He emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation, particularly in areas such as the economy, tourism, culture, agriculture, energy, technology, and the development of Budapest Airport. The Qatari leader also reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to its partnership with Europe, underscoring shared goals of international peace, security, and mutual prosperity.
The two leaders also discussed opportunities for collaboration within international organizations, the exchange of expertise between their countries, and key regional and international issues, including the ongoing developments in Gaza and Lebanon.
The session was attended by senior officials and ministers from both sides, including members of the official Qatari delegation and Hungarian government representatives.
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed was accorded an official reception upon his arrival in Budapest, marking the significance of the visit and the growing ties between the two nations.
