Tajikistan Highlights Role of Medical Professionals in Advancing National Healthcare

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: A ceremonial gathering was held at the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan on Tuesday to mark Medical Workers’ Day.
Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Dilrabo Mansuri highlighted the important role of healthcare workers in protecting public health and advancing the country’s healthcare system.
It was noted that Medical Workers’ Day is celebrated annually on August 18, the birth anniversary of the renowned Tajik scholar, poet, philosopher and physician Sheikhurrais Abu Ali ibn Sina (Avicenna), and ahead of preparations for the anniversary of Tajikistan’s state independence.
The gathering emphasised that healthcare has received particular attention from President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon throughout the years of independence, enabling the sector to undergo significant stages of development.
The President has described public health as a national asset and has provided opportunities for the modernisation of medical institutions, development of primary healthcare facilities, training of qualified specialists, introduction of modern diagnostic and treatment methods, and strengthening of the sector’s material and technical capacity.
The event concluded with certificates of appreciation and professional awards being presented to a number of healthcare workers in recognition of their dedicated service and valuable contributions to the development of the healthcare sector.
