Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: A conference dedicated to the adoption of the United Nations resolution titled “International Decade for Peacebuilding for Future Generations, 2027–2036” was held on June 27 at the Committee for Women and Family Affairs under the Government of Tajikistan, according to the committee.

Participants noted that under the leadership of President Emomali Rahmon, Tajikistan has established itself during the years of independence as a proactive country in addressing major global challenges, including water and climate issues, glacier preservation, and the promotion of international peace and security.

Speakers described Tajikistan’s initiative that led to the adoption of the UN General Assembly resolution on the International Decade for Peacebuilding for Future Generations (2027–2036) as a natural continuation of the country’s longstanding peace-oriented foreign policy.

The conference heard that the initiative aims to strengthen the culture of peace, prevent conflicts, promote tolerance and mutual understanding, and expand dialogue among civilizations as essential foundations for ensuring a better future for coming generations.

Participants emphasized that the implementation of the decade’s objectives could help build greater trust among nations and contribute to sustainable global development.

The event also focused on the important role of women in promoting peace, preventing extremism, and raising younger generations in the spirit of patriotism, tolerance, and respect for universal human values.

Speakers stressed that the active participation of women and young people in implementing the initiative’s goals would be crucial to achieving lasting peace and sustainable development.

Participants welcomed Tajikistan’s continued initiatives on the international stage, stating that promoting such efforts would further strengthen the country’s standing as a peace-loving and proactive member of the international community.
