Türkiye to Host 10th Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Meeting with Azerbaijan and Georgia in Istanbul
Istanbul, The Gulf Observer: The 10th Trilateral Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Georgia is set to take place in Istanbul on Monday, bringing together senior officials from the three neighboring countries to discuss regional cooperation, connectivity and strategic development.
According to reports by Haber Global, citing sources from the Turkish Foreign Ministry, the meeting will be attended by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili.
The ministers are expected to review the current state of trilateral cooperation and explore new areas of joint engagement aimed at enhancing regional collaboration and mutual interests.
Discussions are expected to focus on key regional developments, coordination of foreign policy initiatives and cooperation in the South Caucasus. The agenda will also include strengthening transport connectivity, expanding regional transit routes, enhancing energy security and promoting trade and economic relations among the three countries.
Sources indicated that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is expected to emphasize the increasing strategic significance of the South Caucasus amid growing geopolitical uncertainties, economic challenges and emerging security risks.
The meeting is also anticipated to reaffirm the importance of the trilateral cooperation mechanism as a practical and results-oriented platform that contributes to regional stability, prosperity and sustainable development.
Officials are expected to highlight that Türkiye’s close and multifaceted relations with Azerbaijan and Georgia have played a vital role in advancing regional integration and strengthening economic cooperation.
Particular attention is likely to be given to the development of transport infrastructure along the Middle Corridor, including the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway project, expansion of logistics networks and measures to increase regional transit capacity, further enhancing connectivity between Asia and Europe.
The trilateral format has been regarded as an important framework for promoting dialogue, economic partnerships and regional cooperation in the South Caucasus.
