Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation in Islamabad

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan Atadjan Movlamov held a meeting with Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Irfan Davudov at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad on September 11, 2026.

At the outset, Ambassador Movlamov warmly congratulated his Azerbaijani counterpart on his appointment, conveying best wishes for success in his new responsibilities and for the continued strengthening of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the two sides to exchange views on the current state and prospects of Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations. They underscored the high level of bilateral ties, which are based on mutual respect and close fraternal bonds between the two nations.

The ambassadors noted that Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, as friendly and fraternal states, continue to develop multifaceted cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening mutual trust, expanding practical cooperation and advancing initiatives aimed at promoting the shared interests and prosperity of the two countries and their peoples.

The sides also expressed confidence that the longstanding spirit of friendship underpinning Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations would continue to serve as a strong foundation for realising existing cooperation potential and opening new avenues for partnership.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both sides to further strengthening bilateral relations and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
