Turkmenistan, Türkiye Hold Political Consultations to Strengthen Strategic Bilateral Cooperation
Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Turkmenistan and Türkiye reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations during political consultations held at the level of heads of structural divisions of their respective foreign ministries in Ankara, with both sides reviewing a broad agenda of political, economic and cultural cooperation.
The Turkmen delegation was led by I. Amanlyev, Head of the Middle East Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, while the Turkish side was headed by Togan Oral.
During the consultations, the two sides expressed satisfaction with the traditionally high level and dynamic development of bilateral interstate relations, emphasizing that regular contacts at the highest and senior official levels, along with ongoing consultations between the two foreign ministries, remain key drivers of the expanding partnership.
The officials reviewed a wide range of issues concerning the further development of political and diplomatic relations, the expansion of interparliamentary cooperation, enhancement of the bilateral legal and treaty framework, and the resolution of consular matters of mutual interest.
The parties underscored that reciprocal visits by the leaders of the two countries remain a cornerstone of Turkmen-Turkish relations, providing fresh momentum for strengthening strategic partnership and broadening cooperation across multiple sectors.
Both sides reaffirmed the importance they attach to bilateral cooperation as well as coordination within international and regional organizations. They exchanged views on enhancing cooperation and mutual support within multilateral forums on issues of shared interest.
Highlighting the importance of coordinated efforts to expand economic ties, the officials stressed the significant role of the Turkmen-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and the Turkmen-Turkish Business Council in promoting trade and investment.
The discussions also focused on strengthening cooperation in trade, transport, energy, construction and other key economic sectors.
In addition, the two delegations expressed mutual interest in deepening cultural dialogue and expanding collaboration in science, education, sports and healthcare.
During the visit to Ankara, the Turkmen delegation also held a meeting with Ayşe Berris Ekinci, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of Turkmenistan and Türkiye to further strengthening bilateral relations, with both sides discussing current issues of cooperation and exploring new opportunities to expand collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
The consultations concluded with both countries reiterating their determination to continue enhancing their longstanding partnership through sustained political dialogue and practical cooperation across a wide range of sectors.
