UAE President Holds Talks with President Trump to Advance UAE-US Strategic Partnership

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held high-level talks today with US President Donald Trump during the latter’s state visit to the United Arab Emirates. The two leaders discussed ways to deepen the longstanding strategic partnership between the UAE and the United States, as well as regional and international developments of mutual concern.

The meeting took place at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, where His Highness officially welcomed President Trump and his accompanying delegation. In his remarks, Sheikh Mohamed emphasised the significance of the visit in reinforcing bilateral ties, highlighting the strong foundations of mutual trust, respect, and shared aspirations for peace and prosperity.

The discussions explored avenues to further enhance cooperation in key sectors, including investment, energy, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, and industry. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to promoting a prosperous and secure future through closer collaboration across these strategic domains.

President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed underlined that the UAE and the US have maintained a deep-rooted friendship spanning more than five decades, characterised by consistent efforts to promote peace and stability. He reiterated the UAE’s dedication to international cooperation and its role as a reliable partner in addressing regional and global challenges.

The two leaders also discussed regional security, with a shared emphasis on the need to de-escalate tensions and uphold stability in the Middle East. Both expressed confidence in the enduring value of UAE-US cooperation in promoting a rules-based international order.

In a notable development, Sheikh Mohamed and President Trump celebrated the launch of a new 1-gigawatt AI cluster, set to be located at a state-of-the-art AI campus in Abu Dhabi. This initiative underscores the shared commitment to advancing innovation and building a knowledge-driven economy.

President Trump praised Sheikh Mohamed’s leadership and vision, stating that UAE-US relations have reached unprecedented levels of collaboration. He expressed appreciation for the UAE’s role as a key strategic partner and voiced confidence in the continued growth of bilateral ties.

To commemorate the visit, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed hosted a dinner banquet in honour of President Trump and his delegation. President Trump also signed the guestbook at Qasr Al Watan, expressing his admiration for the UAE’s progress and his appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Emirati leadership.

The meeting was attended by several senior UAE officials, including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court; His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence; His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser; and other members of the ruling family, ministers, and top officials.

The visit marked a key milestone in UAE-US relations, reinforcing both nations’ shared resolve to work together for global peace, innovation, and development.
