Uzbekistan, ACWA Power Review Expansion of Green Energy and Infrastructure Cooperation

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Shavkat Mirziyoyev has held discussions with a high-level delegation led by Mohammad Abunayyan on the sidelines of the Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank Board of Governors, focusing on expanding strategic cooperation and accelerating joint investment projects.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the progress of ongoing initiatives and explored new avenues for partnership. President Mirziyoyev praised ACWA Power as a key partner in Uzbekistan’s green energy transition, particularly in renewable energy development.
It was noted that new investment projects launched in December last year, including solar and wind power plant developments, are being implemented according to schedule, reflecting steady progress in bilateral cooperation.
The discussions also focused on several promising areas of collaboration, including the construction of the planned “New Tashkent” international airport, the establishment of a multidisciplinary medical facility in Fergana, and the development of a modern data centre at the IT Park in Tashkent.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening long-term cooperation, with Saudi investors expressing appreciation for Uzbekistan’s ongoing economic reforms and improving investment climate. They also reiterated their readiness to ensure the timely and high-quality execution of all joint projects.
The meeting underscored the growing strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and leading international investors in advancing infrastructure, energy transition, and digital development initiatives.
