Uzbekistan and Georgia Strengthen Cooperation in Higher Education and Research

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: A high-level delegation led by Shokhrukh Daliyev, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan, held negotiations with Giorgi Modebadze, First Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in higher education, science, and innovation, in line with agreements reached at the highest levels between the two nations.
During the discussions, both sides emphasized the implementation of joint educational programs, faculty exchange, and research collaborations. It was highlighted that three Georgian students are currently pursuing their studies in Uzbekistan. Additionally, Tashkent State Agrarian University and the Georgian Research Institute of Horticulture, Viticulture, and Winemaking plan to establish a collection vineyard and offer specialized internships for master’s students in viticulture and winemaking.
A significant outcome of the talks was the decision to organize the first Uzbekistan–Georgia Rectors’ Forum, which aims to foster deeper academic ties. Moreover, an agreement was reached to facilitate the admission of Georgian students to Uzbekistan’s higher education institutions, further enhancing Uzbekistan’s global reputation in education and expanding its educational services export.
