Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Strengthen Cooperation in Digital Technologies and Innovation

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Bilateral collaboration in the fields of digital technologies, innovation, and telecommunications is gaining momentum following a high-level visit by a Kazakh delegation to Uzbekistan. The delegation, led by Zhaslan Madiyev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held an official meeting with Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The meeting, held at the Ministry of Digital Technologies and IT Park Uzbekistan, marked a significant step toward enhancing strategic digital cooperation between the two countries. Both parties exchanged views on strengthening bilateral engagement, addressing mutual challenges, and initiating collaborative digital projects.
Key areas of discussion included the development of cross-border telecommunication services, promotion of IT services by companies from both nations in the global market, and the expansion of digital service exports. The ministers also explored opportunities to intensify cooperation between the technology parks of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
A number of proposals were introduced for joint implementation of incubation and acceleration programs to support innovative startups. Particular attention was given to creating enabling environments for Kazakh startups to access international markets, attract investment, and scale globally through cooperative platforms.
The discussions underscored a shared vision for deepening practical and forward-looking cooperation in the digital sphere. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing consistent and coordinated efforts aimed at advancing innovation ecosystems in Central Asia.
This meeting is expected to lay the groundwork for future partnerships that will enhance digital transformation, economic competitiveness, and regional technological integration.
