Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan Strengthen Bilateral Ties During PM Kasymaliev’s Official Visit

Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: State President Lương Cường on Thursday received Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev, who is on an official visit to Vietnam from March 6–7.
During the meeting, President Cường emphasized that Vietnam deeply values the support received from the Soviet Union, including Kyrgyzstan, during its struggle for national liberation, development, and economic growth. He highlighted the significance of this visit, which marks a new chapter in Vietnam-Kyrgyzstan relations, strengthening bilateral cooperation in multiple sectors.
Prime Minister Kasymaliev, in his remarks, expressed admiration for Vietnam’s rapid development and conveyed his nation’s commitment to fostering stronger diplomatic and economic ties. He underscored Kyrgyzstan’s appreciation of Vietnam’s regional and global role and emphasized the need to enhance mutual cooperation.
Both leaders acknowledged the positive trajectory of political, diplomatic, and trade relations between the two nations. They agreed to reinforce political trust and increase exchanges across all levels, including government, ministries, parliaments, and socio-political organizations. Additionally, they pledged to facilitate business investments and legal frameworks to expand economic partnerships.
President Cường noted that despite the rise in bilateral trade, there remains significant untapped potential. He urged enhanced collaboration in trade, education, science and technology, transport, energy, and cultural exchange to realize the full scope of Vietnam-Kyrgyzstan cooperation.
The two sides also discussed regional and global issues, vowing to maintain close coordination at international forums, particularly within the United Nations, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA). President Cường reaffirmed Vietnam’s readiness to serve as a bridge for Kyrgyzstan to strengthen ties with Southeast Asia and ASEAN.
Regarding the South China Sea issue, the Vietnamese leader emphasized the importance of maritime security and called on Kyrgyzstan to support ASEAN and Vietnam’s stance on upholding international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
On this occasion, PM Kasymaliev conveyed greetings from Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and extended an official invitation for President Cường to visit Kyrgyzstan. The Vietnamese leader welcomed the invitation, directing the foreign ministries of both countries to arrange the visit at a mutually convenient time.
Additionally, President Cường expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz government for supporting the Vietnamese community in Kyrgyzstan and requested continued assistance to further strengthen bilateral ties.
