Turkmenistan Participates in Regional Events on International Women’s Day in Bangkok

Bangkok, The Gulf Observer: Regional events dedicated to International Women’s Day were held in Bangkok, Thailand, organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). The discussions focused on advancing women’s rights and promoting gender equality across the region.

The Turkmen delegation included Ogulsabyr Berdiyeva, Chairperson of the UNESCO Club “Languages of the World” at the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi and a member of the Central Council of the Women’s Union of Turkmenistan, along with Guljahan Berdiyeva, Chief Specialist of the Information, Analysis, and International Relations Department of the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan.

During the event, representatives from Turkmenistan actively participated in discussions on regional policies regarding women’s rights. The delegates shared insights into Turkmenistan’s initiatives supporting women’s empowerment and gained knowledge about best practices from other countries in the region.

Special emphasis was placed on expanding economic opportunities for women and increasing their participation in decision-making processes. The conference served as a platform to strengthen cooperation and exchange experiences among nations committed to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
