Erdogan Highlights Positive Developments in Türkiye’s Eastern Provinces
Bitlis, The Gulf Observer: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan underscored the significant progress in Türkiye’s eastern and southeastern provinces, which have been liberated from the grip of terrorism due to the country’s relentless counterterrorism operations. Speaking at the grand opening ceremony of Bitlis Public and Private Investments on Sunday, Erdogan emphasized the transformative impact of these efforts.
“As the dark shadow of terrorism fades from our eastern and southeastern provinces, the potential of our cities, which has been dormant for years, is also emerging,” President Erdogan stated, highlighting the resurgence of economic and social vitality in the region.
He pointed to tangible benefits already being realized, noting, “Just yesterday, Mount Gabar was a stronghold of terrorism; today, we are extracting one of our country’s largest oil reserves.” This development, Erdogan explained, is a clear indication of the positive changes taking place as peace and stability are restored.
Erdogan further asserted that the era when politics were manipulated by terror, societal divisions were imposed, and the country’s trajectory was dictated by fear, is now firmly in the past. His remarks reflect a broader trend of revitalization in regions once plagued by conflict, now experiencing substantial economic and developmental growth as security improves.
The President’s comments underscore the government’s commitment to continuing these efforts to ensure the lasting peace and prosperity of Türkiye’s eastern and southeastern provinces.
