12th Arab Thought and Culture Forum Held in Abu Dhabi, Focuses on National Identity

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The 12th edition of the Arab Thought and Culture Forum was convened in Abu Dhabi today, organized by the Arab Think Tank Alliance in collaboration with Bahrain’s AlAyam Media Centre and the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research. The forum, held under the theme “National Identity – Roles and Challenges,” brought together prominent intellectuals and research institutions to discuss pressing national and cultural issues.
This event underscores the United Arab Emirates’ ongoing commitment to promoting social cohesion and innovation—key priorities since the nation’s establishment.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Chairman of Sandooq Al Watan, delivered the keynote address, praising the efforts of the Arab Think Tank Alliance, Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi’s office, and Al-Ayam newspaper for organizing this significant gathering.
In his address, Sheikh Nahyan emphasized the importance of national identity, calling it “a vital national asset that must always be preserved and nurtured” due to its critical role in shaping collective consciousness and safeguarding self-identity. He further highlighted that President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan consistently stresses that sustaining progress and success begins with a deep sense of pride in the national identity, which is deeply rooted in enduring and authentic values.
The forum is a testament to the UAE’s leadership in fostering dialogue on important cultural and national topics across the Arab world.
