Former NPC Chairman Wu Bangguo to Be Cremated on October 14

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: The remains of Wu Bangguo, former chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC), will be cremated in Beijing on October 14. Wu passed away at the age of 84 due to illness on October 8.

In a mark of respect and mourning for his death, national flags will be flown at half-mast on Monday at several prominent locations, including Tiananmen Square, Xinhuamen, the Great Hall of the People, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing. Additionally, flags will be lowered at the offices of CPC committees and governments across provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, as well as in the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions, and at border ports, seaports, and airports of entry. Chinese embassies and consulates worldwide will also observe this tribute.
