Berlin Hosts Cultural Event Celebrating Uzbekistan’s Priceless Heritage
Berlin, The Gulf Observer: A Cultural and Enlightenment Event titled “The Priceless Heritage of Uzbekistan” was held in Berlin, showcasing the rich cultural and artistic legacy of Uzbekistan. The event brought together a delegation from the National University of Uzbekistan, Uzbek students studying in Germany, and German cultural and academic experts.
Ambassador Dilshod Akhatov highlighted the growing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany, particularly in the field of education. He noted that bilateral ties are strengthening year by year, fostering deeper cultural and academic exchanges.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Raima Shirinova, Vice-Rector of the National University of Uzbekistan for International Relations, emphasized the significance of the upcoming 43rd Session of the UNESCO General Conference, set to take place in Samarkand in 2025. She underscored the importance of protecting Uzbekistan’s intangible cultural heritage, much of which is included in the UNESCO Representative List.
The event featured an exhibition of Uzbekistan’s cultural treasures, including pottery, national fine art, miniatures, and traditional cuisine, offering attendees a vibrant glimpse into the nation’s heritage. Uzbekistan’s renowned artists also performed a musical program, captivating the audience with traditional melodies and rhythms.
This celebration of Uzbekistan’s cultural identity not only reinforced the importance of preserving its heritage but also served as a testament to the strengthening cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Germany.
