Saudi Arabia Extends Condolences Following Tragic Plane Crash in South Korea

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Arabia has expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims who perished in a tragic plane crash involving a flight traveling from Thailand to South Korea on Sunday.

The incident occurred when a Jeju Air passenger plane skidded off the runway at Muan International Airport, approximately 290 kilometers south of Seoul. The aircraft slammed into a concrete barrier and burst into flames after its front landing gear failed to deploy during landing at 9:03 a.m. Tragically, 179 of the 181 people on board lost their lives, making it one of South Korea’s most devastating aviation disasters.

The plane, a 15-year-old Boeing 737-800, had departed from Bangkok, Thailand. The South Korean Ministry of Transport is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.

In a statement, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended its condolences to the government and people of South Korea and expressed solidarity with the affected families. The Kingdom also conveyed its wishes for a swift recovery to the injured.

This somber event has prompted an outpouring of international sympathy and support for South Korea as it mourns the loss of lives in this tragic incident.
