Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Strengthen Cooperation in Healthcare Sector

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: Uzbekistan’s Minister of Health, Asilbek Khudayarov, met with a Kazakh delegation led by Alexei Tsoi, Head of the Medical Center of the President’s Affairs Administration of Kazakhstan. The meeting, attended by Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, Beibut Atamkulov, focused on enhancing bilateral collaboration in healthcare.

During their visit, the delegation toured the Central Consultative and Diagnostic Polyclinic No. 1, operating under the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan. The visit underscored the growing partnership between the two nations, which has seen significant developments in recent years. Notably, over 100 Kazakh students are currently pursuing medical education at Uzbekistan’s higher medical institutions.

As part of the strengthening ties, the 2024/2025 academic year marks the initiation of a joint educational program between Uzbekistan’s Bukhara State Medical Institute and Kazakhstan’s Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Additionally, Uzbekistan’s medical institutions have regularly hosted masterclasses and surgical demonstrations featuring Kazakh medical professionals, fostering skill-sharing and expertise development.

Minister Khudayarov proposed further initiatives to expand cooperation in healthcare and emphasized the importance of exchanging knowledge and best practices. Alexei Tsoi shared insights into the management system of Kazakhstan’s Presidential Medical Center, highlighting its efficiency and potential applications in Uzbekistan to enhance staff capacity and treatment quality.

The discussions reflected the commitment of both countries to deepening their partnership in healthcare, with future plans focused on leveraging shared expertise and fostering innovation in medical education and patient care. This collaboration signifies a step forward in regional cooperation and the mutual pursuit of excellence in healthcare.
