SOCAR President Meets Somali Minister to Discuss Energy Cooperation

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Rovshan Najaf, President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), held a meeting with Dahir Shire Mohamed, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Somalia, to discuss bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized that the high-level talks between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on February 12 laid a strong foundation for expanding collaboration across various sectors, particularly energy.
Discussions also focused on opportunities for Somali students to pursue education at Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) as part of efforts to develop human capital in Somalia’s oil and gas sector. Additionally, the parties explored initiatives to enhance the expertise of Somali professionals in the energy industry.
The meeting further addressed potential cooperation in exploration, trading, and other areas of mutual interest within the energy sector, underscoring the commitment of both countries to strengthening their partnership.
