Regional Cooperation

Kilis, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, hailed the power of regional cooperation as he addressed a ceremony marking the official launch of Azerbaijani natural gas supplies to Syria via Türkiye.

Speaking at the event held in Kilis, a southern Turkish province bordering Syria, Minister Jabbarov emphasized that the ceremony was a clear demonstration of the successful results achievable through trilateral collaboration.

“Today, Syria begins its normalization process, and this milestone is the result of large-scale work carried out in a remarkably short period,” the minister said. “This event stands as a testament to our joint efforts, and it would not have been possible without the strong support of the Republic of Türkiye.”

Minister Jabbarov underscored that the project reflects the shared vision of Azerbaijan and Türkiye to support the development and reconstruction of Syria. “As brotherly nations, we are united in demonstrating our joint support for Syria’s future. This is a tangible and strategic outcome of our collaborative partnership.”

The newly inaugurated gas supply marks a significant advancement in regional energy cooperation and highlights Azerbaijan’s expanding role in international energy security and humanitarian support. The initiative also signals a step forward in Syria’s post-conflict recovery and economic revitalization, facilitated by regional partners.
