Malaysian Foreign Minister to Attend OIC Emergency Meeting on Palestine in Jeddah

Shah Alam, The Gulf Observer: Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan is scheduled to attend the Emergency Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Monday, August 25, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
According to a statement by Wisma Putra, the emergency meeting has been convened to deliberate on Israel’s proposal to seize control of the entire Gaza Strip by force, as well as its vision of expanding the so-called “Greater Israel,” which constitutes a violation of international law.
The agenda also includes discussions on Israel’s ongoing construction of thousands of illegal settlements in the E1 area between Jerusalem and Ma’ale Adumim in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT).
The Foreign Minister is expected to hold bilateral talks with his counterparts on the sidelines of the meeting to explore joint efforts aimed at ending the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza, particularly in light of the continued blockade of humanitarian aid by Israel.
Wisma Putra underscored that Mohamad Hasan’s participation in the emergency meeting reflects Malaysia’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause and its support for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, based on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The meeting is regarded as a significant platform for OIC member states to formulate a unified stance against Israel’s continued actions, while urging the international community to take immediate measures to end the oppression of the Palestinian people.
