Saudi Health Minister Explores Healthcare Cooperation During Official Visit to New Zealand

Wellington, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Health, Fahad Abdulrahman AlJalajel, held talks with New Zealand’s Minister for Mental Health, Matt Doocey, during an official visit that concluded on Saturday, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Doocey, the first minister appointed to oversee mental health in New Zealand, discussed with AlJalajel avenues for collaboration in strengthening mental health services and broader healthcare cooperation.

AlJalajel highlighted the Kingdom’s experience in advancing digital mental health programs, which have provided support to millions of beneficiaries. He emphasized Saudi Arabia’s commitment to sharing expertise and forging innovative partnerships in the health sector.

During the visit, the Saudi minister and his accompanying delegation also met with a range of officials and healthcare leaders in New Zealand. Discussions focused on exploring joint initiatives, knowledge exchange, and developing strategic cooperation to enhance healthcare systems in both countries.

AlJalajel’s trip formed part of Saudi Arabia’s wider efforts to expand the scope of its international partnerships in healthcare, with a focus on digital transformation and improved service delivery.
