Iran and Türkiye Pledge to Deepen Strategic Partnership and Expand Regional Cooperation

Iran

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iran and Türkiye’s foreign ministers have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening strategic relations and broadening cooperation across key sectors, including trade, energy, transport, border security, and regional exchanges.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, held talks on Monday on the sidelines of the extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah. The ministers described bilateral relations as “strategic and continuous,” agreeing to accelerate joint projects and regional initiatives.

Araghchi expressed appreciation for Türkiye’s active role in supporting the Palestinian cause and leading the OIC as its rotating chair, while calling for stronger Islamic unity against Israel’s expansionist policies.

Both sides underlined the urgency of convening the Iran-Türkiye High Council of Cooperation at the earliest opportunity to further deepen bilateral ties. The ministers also pledged to maintain regular consultations and coordination, stressing that regional and international cooperation must be based on mutual respect, good neighborliness, and shared interests.
