President Pezeshkian Stresses Importance of Regional Cooperation to Counter Sanctions and Strengthen Iran’s Economy

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday underscored the strategic importance of regional cooperation, stating that a country like Iran, with 16 neighboring nations, cannot be easily subjected to sanctions if it effectively manages its border interactions and diplomatic relations.

Speaking at a ceremony in Tehran, President Pezeshkian emphasized that constructive engagement with neighboring countries is key to overcoming external pressures and ensuring sustainable national development.

“If we effectively manage our relationships with our neighbors, we can successfully overcome external pressures,” Pezeshkian said, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to expanding Iran’s regional partnerships and economic cooperation.

Referring to the 12-day war imposed on the country and the enduring resilience of the Iranian people, the president highlighted the pivotal role of public support in maintaining national strength and independence.

“In a world where bullies attempt to impose their will on others, it is our reliance on the people that provides us with the strength and capability to resist greed,” he remarked.

Addressing domestic policy priorities, President Pezeshkian pointed to the government’s ongoing efforts to address imbalances, particularly in the energy sector. He noted that significant progress has been achieved in the development of solar power plants, and that fuel reserves for power plants are in much better condition compared to the previous year.

The president reiterated his administration’s resolve to promote sustainable energy solutions, enhance economic resilience, and deepen Iran’s cooperation with its neighboring countries as part of a broader strategy to counter external restrictions and foster regional stability.
