TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel Receives TURKPA Delegation, Highlights Expanding Cooperation

Lefkoşa, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ünal Üstel received a delegation led by Ambassador Ramil Hasan, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), during an official meeting aimed at strengthening cooperation and reviewing ongoing initiatives within the Turkic world.
Secretary General Hasan briefed the Prime Minister on TURKPA’s recently implemented key projects and conveyed the strong support expressed for the TRNC by Heads of State during the 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Gabala. He emphasized the dynamic cooperation fostered under the TRNC’s observer status in TURKPA and reaffirmed the Assembly’s readiness to provide full support to the TRNC in its upcoming activities within its mandate.
Highlighting future plans, Hasan noted that under the leadership of TURKPA Chairman-in-Office Yerlan Koshanov, Speaker of the Majlis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, the Assembly has designed significant strategic initiatives for 2026. He expressed confidence that the TRNC delegation would take an active part in these programmes.
Prime Minister Ünal Üstel welcomed the visit and expressed appreciation for TURKPA’s continued engagement. He voiced confidence that bilateral cooperation would further expand and that support for the TRNC within Turkic institutions would continue to strengthen.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Secretaries General Talgat Aduov and Muhammet Alper Hayali, along with TURKPA staff member Alasgar Aghayev.
