Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka on Tuesday briefed President Prabowo Subianto on the outcomes of his recent visit to South Africa for the G20 Summit, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya announced.

In a statement shared via Instagram, Wijaya said the Vice President reported on the summit’s key discussions and follow-up steps related to agreements and international cooperation deliberated in Johannesburg.

Gibran led Indonesia’s delegation at the G20 Summit held on November 22–23, representing the country on President Prabowo’s instructions. He participated in plenary sessions and high-level meetings focused on food resilience, the digital economy, and artificial intelligence.

According to Wijaya, the Vice President underlined Indonesia’s commitment to ensuring equitable access to technology and fostering a fair and inclusive global partnership. He also conveyed warm greetings from world leaders to President Prabowo.

During the three main sessions, Gibran called for reforms to achieve a fair global financing system, advocating debt relief measures and innovative financing mechanisms. He highlighted Indonesia’s efforts to strengthen sustainable resilience against disaster risks and ongoing national initiatives on climate and disaster preparedness.

Gibran also addressed the crucial role of artificial intelligence and critical minerals in the energy and high-tech sectors, urging the G20 to advance discussions on global AI governance frameworks.

On the sidelines of the summit, the Vice President participated in a meeting of the MIKTA group — comprising Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, Turkey, and Australia — and held a series of bilateral engagements with leaders of various countries and international organizations.
