UAE President Attends High-Level Session on Building Integrated National AI Ecosystem

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Friday attended a high-level session outlining the United Arab Emirates’ strategic vision for developing an integrated artificial intelligence ecosystem, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to becoming a leading global hub for advanced technologies.
The discussions emphasized the UAE’s determination to harness AI for the benefit of individuals and communities while strengthening the country’s global standing in the rapidly evolving field. The session also examined the sweeping global transformation driven by AI and its growing influence across all sectors of life.
In his opening remarks, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, highlighted the UAE leadership’s forward-looking vision for artificial intelligence and innovation. He presented real-life examples illustrating the impact of AI on daily routines and societal development.
The session brought together senior officials including Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of Education; Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; Mansoor Al Mansoori, Chairman of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi; Dr. Mohamed Al Askar, Director-General of TAMM; Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of the UAE Cybersecurity Council; Ahmed Yahia Al Idrissi, Managing Director and CEO of MGX; and Peng Xiao, CEO of G42.
Speakers underscored that artificial intelligence is a transformative force shaping all aspects of life and reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to placing human wellbeing, progress, and cultural values at the core of its AI strategy.
Key topics discussed included the UAE’s national AI strategy, applications across priority sectors such as healthcare, education, and the economy, as well as cybersecurity in the AI era. The session also highlighted the importance of building AI networks, sharing knowledge, and stimulating investment to support global economic growth.
Officials noted AI’s growing role in improving the quality and efficiency of healthcare services, including advances in diagnosis accuracy and treatment outcomes that have significantly boosted patient survival rates.
The UAE’s proactive adoption of emerging technologies was also showcased, including initiatives such as the AI Readiness Index, which assesses federal entities’ preparedness for AI leadership, and the Large Language Model Alignment Index, evaluating the cultural alignment and accuracy of Arabic-language AI tools. These initiatives place Emirati identity and values at the foundation of the country’s AI outlook.
The session featured a live demonstration of the TAMM app, highlighting how integrated digital services — including vehicle renewal, insurance, online payments, and AI-powered support — enhance public service delivery.
Participants also discussed efforts within the education system to equip students with responsible and effective AI skills, while reinforcing national identity and deepening understanding of Emirati culture.
