Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Inaugurates New Facilities at King Salman Air Base to Boost RSAF Combat Readiness

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman on Tuesday inaugurated a set of new strategic facilities at King Salman Air Base in the Central Sector, marking a major milestone in efforts to enhance the combat readiness and operational capabilities of the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF).
Upon his arrival at the base, the Crown Prince was received by Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman along with several senior military and civilian officials. He toured the newly constructed facilities and received briefings on the technical, administrative, and residential units, all built in accordance with the highest international military standards.
During the tour, the Crown Prince was presented with details of the engineering components and construction phases of the project. The new facilities are designed to significantly strengthen the Air Force’s combat preparedness and support key functions, including planning, command and control, logistics, and joint military operations across the Armed Forces.
A video presentation screened during the inauguration showcased the various stages of the project’s implementation. Construction began in the third quarter of 2021 and was completed within 38 months. The entire complex was designed in the distinctive Salmani architectural style, reflecting Riyadh’s heritage while aligning with modern urban development trends.
The expansive project includes 115 buildings covering an area exceeding 126,000 square meters. Key components include runways, aircraft aprons, helicopter pads, aircraft hangars, an air traffic control tower, and a full range of technical, administrative, residential, and security facilities required to support advanced air operations.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Deputy Emir of the Riyadh Region Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, Mayor of the Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz, along with senior civil and military leaders.
