Winners Announced on First Day of “Azerbaijan Open” International Alpine Skiing Tournament

Baku, The Gulf Observer: The winners of the first day of the “Azerbaijan Open” international alpine skiing tournament have been announced, the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation reported. The tournament is co-organized with Shahdag Mountain Resort and held under the calendar of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS).

Georgian alpine skier Nino Tsiklauri claimed first place, followed by Swedish athlete Nikita Anner in second, and Uzbek skier Ksenia Brezhnaya in third.

The two-day tournament features 20 female athletes representing Azerbaijan, Switzerland, Hungary, Slovenia, Georgia, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Nepal, and Uzbekistan. Azerbaijan is represented by alpine skier Anastasia Papatoma.

The competition will continue until 10 January, with athletes vying for championship titles in the Slalom and Giant Slalom disciplines.
