Addis Ababa, The Gulf Observer: Leyla Aliyeva paid a visit to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, where she was warmly received by Ethiopian Minister of Planning and Development Fitsum Assefa Adela.

In honor of the visit, a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony was organized, highlighting the country’s ancient and rich cultural heritage. During the ceremony, guests were briefed on the significance and rituals of this time-honored tradition before being served freshly brewed Ethiopian coffee, renowned for its distinctive aroma and unique taste.

As part of her visit, Leyla Aliyeva also toured the Ethiopian Science Museum, where she was welcomed by Alemtsehay Paulos, Head of the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Cabinet Affairs of Ethiopia.

The Ethiopian Science Museum, spread over seven hectares, was inaugurated in October 2022 and comprises two major buildings surrounded by greenery covering 80 percent of the complex. Designed as a hub for scientific research and education, the museum preserves both ancient and modern technological achievements, passing them on to future generations.

Initiated by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, the museum features interactive science and technology exhibits and incorporates sustainable design elements, including solar panels and a planetarium. The facility also serves as a key venue for major technological events and conferences, fostering creativity, innovation, and digital skills among young people.

Since its opening, the museum has attracted strong interest from younger audiences, welcoming approximately seven million children. The complex stands as a cornerstone of Ethiopia’s digital transformation efforts, reflecting a successful blend of advanced technology and the nation’s rich traditional heritage.
