Romanian President Nicușor Dan Welcomes U.S. Peace Initiative, Evaluates Compatibility with National Commitments

Bucharest, The Gulf Observer: Romanian President Nicușor Dan has welcomed the initiative of U.S. President Donald Trump aimed at promoting peace and international security, the Presidential Administration announced on Tuesday.
In an official statement, President Dan said he is currently analyzing the content and implications of the Charter of the Council for Peace to determine its compatibility with Romania’s existing international obligations. “The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, welcomes the initiative of the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, aimed at promoting peace and international security, including efforts dedicated to identifying solutions to the conflict in Gaza and other major global challenges,” the statement read.
The assessment will examine Romania’s commitments under the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), and the European Union, with the goal of identifying the most effective ways for Romania to contribute to the shared objective of strengthening global peace.
Romania has been formally invited to join the “Council for Peace” through a letter sent by President Trump, the Presidential Administration confirmed on Sunday. “The Presidential Administration confirms receipt of the letter sent by the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, to the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, officially extending the invitation for Romania to become a member of the ‘Council for Peace,’” the statement added.
