Sri Lankan President Dissanayake Announces Plan to Recruit Qualified Professionals into Teaching Service

Colombo, The Gulf Observer: Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has announced that the government plans to induct degree-holding professionals with prior teaching experience into the national teaching service. He invited eligible candidates to sit for the examination conducted under the Sri Lanka Teachers Service Minute.

The President made these remarks during a meeting with representatives of the School Development Officers’ Association held at the Presidential Secretariat on Monday (03).

During the discussion, the representatives stated that the issue at hand was neither the responsibility of the current government nor their association. However, they highlighted the professional and social challenges faced by School Development Officers.

President Dissanayake engaged in a detailed discussion on the matter and emphasized that the government is committed to safeguarding the professional pride and dignity of all stakeholders involved. He reaffirmed that any future decisions would be taken with due consideration to fairness, merit, and the long-term strengthening of the education sector.
