Macron Expresses Solidarity with Azerbaijan in Call with President Ilham Aliyev

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron held a telephone conversation with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on March 8, reaffirming France’s solidarity with Azerbaijan following Iran’s recent airstrike targeting Azerbaijani territory.

During the call, President Macron expressed his country’s support and solidarity with Azerbaijan in light of the incident. He also conveyed appreciation to President Aliyev for the assistance provided by Azerbaijan in facilitating the evacuation of French citizens from Iran through Azerbaijani territory amid the escalating regional tensions.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked the French leader for the call and for France’s expression of solidarity.

The two leaders also exchanged views on efforts to strengthen peace and stability in the South Caucasus region. In addition, they discussed ways to revitalize Azerbaijan–France bilateral relations and explored prospects for expanding cooperation between the two countries in various areas.
