Tajikistan, OECD Explore AI-Driven Digital Transformation to Boost Economic Growth

Tajikistan

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: Tajikistan has reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating the digital transformation of its national economy, with a strong focus on improving the business environment, expanding e-government systems, and integrating artificial intelligence to drive private-sector efficiency and sustainable growth.

The emphasis was highlighted during a meeting in Dushanbe between Khurshed Fayzullozoda, Director of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of Tajikistan, and a delegation from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

According to the agency, discussions centered on key areas of bilateral cooperation, preliminary analytical findings presented by the OECD, and priority issues related to economic digitalization and the application of artificial intelligence within the private sector.

OECD representatives shared initial results of their assessment, noting encouraging trends such as growing interest among businesses in digital transformation. However, they also pointed to persistent challenges, including limited access to financing, gaps in digital skills, and the need to further strengthen technological infrastructure.

The meeting also explored measures to improve access to digital infrastructure, expand the adoption of AI technologies across private enterprises, and enhance outreach initiatives aimed at encouraging entrepreneurs to actively participate in government-led digitalization programs.

Both sides expressed their readiness to deepen cooperation and develop practical mechanisms to support the effective integration of artificial intelligence into Tajikistan’s national economy, with the goal of fostering innovation-led and sustainable economic development.
