Vietnam

Hà Tĩnh, The Gulf Observer: Authorities in Việtnam’s central Hà Tĩnh province on Tuesday held a solemn ceremony to commemorate the 120th birth anniversary of Hà Huy Tập (April 24, 1906–2026), honoring his legacy as a steadfast communist, prominent Party leader, and distinguished theorist of the Vietnamese revolution.

Addressing the ceremony, Tô Lâm emphasized that the late leader’s revolutionary life remains a powerful symbol of patriotic intellect and unwavering commitment to the nation. He noted that Hà Huy Tập embraced the proletarian ideal early and followed the path to national liberation charted by Nguyễn Ái Quốc, later known as Hồ Chí Minh.

The Vietnamese leader highlighted Hà Huy Tập’s sharp theoretical thinking, courage, and moral integrity, describing him as a true communist who devoted his life entirely to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.

Drawing inspiration from his legacy, Tô Lâm called for strengthening national aspirations for development, self-reliance, and innovation in the current era. He underscored the importance of advancing science and technology, accelerating digital transformation, promoting green transition, and developing high-quality human resources alongside modern and synchronised infrastructure to ensure sustainable growth.

He further urged Party organisations, authorities, and the people of Hà Tĩnh to follow the example of past leaders by transforming the province’s rich historical, cultural, and revolutionary traditions into a driving force for future development.

Representing the youth, Bùi Hà Vy, a student from Hà Tĩnh High School for the Gifted, expressed deep gratitude for the sacrifices and example of Hà Huy Tập, describing him as a role model of lifelong learning, moral integrity, and dedication to communist ideals. She reaffirmed the younger generation’s responsibility to contribute to national progress.

On the occasion, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded Hà Tĩnh province a certificate recognising the late leader’s gravesite as a national historical relic.

Born into a poor scholarly family in Kim Nặc village, now part of Cẩm Hưng Commune in Hà Tĩnh, Hà Huy Tập served as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Việt Nam from 1936 to 1938. Despite his short life of 35 years, including 16 years of revolutionary activity, he made lasting contributions to the Party and the Vietnamese revolution.
