Tajikistan Launches First Round of National Competition on Works of President Emomali Rahmon

Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: The first round of the Republican Competition titled “The Best Connoisseur of the Works of the Leader of the Nation” has officially commenced in secondary and higher professional educational institutions across Tajikistan, according to the National Library of Tajikistan.

The competition aims to honor the rich history of the Tajik people and promote an in-depth study of the contributions and statecraft of President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon. Organizers said the initiative focuses on examining the President’s role in preserving statehood, strengthening national unity, and establishing a democratic, secular, law-based, and unified state under modern historical conditions.

Participants are expected to demonstrate extensive knowledge of the works, life, and political activities of the Leader of the Nation, as well as familiarity with important legal documents related to the status of the President, the Government of Tajikistan, and the country’s historical, cultural, spiritual, and material heritage. Competitors will also be assessed on their speaking, narration, and presentation abilities.

According to the competition guidelines, first place will be awarded to participants who have studied and mastered more than 90 percent of the published works of President Emomali Rahmon.

Winners will be selected from two categories — secondary vocational institutions and higher professional educational institutions. The first-place winners in each category will receive 20,000 somoni, while second-place winners will be awarded 15,000 somoni. Two third-place winners in each group will each receive 7,500 somoni.

The winners of the final round will also receive special academic privileges, including the opportunity to pursue master’s studies at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Tajikistan without entrance examinations after completing their bachelor’s degree, upon recommendation from the Ministry of Education and Science.

In addition, finalists will be granted honorary membership status at the National Library of Tajikistan, giving them unlimited access to the institution’s departments and resources.

Organizers noted that winners of the final stage will not be eligible to participate in the competition again for the following three years.

The competition is being held under the “Schedule of celebrations, festivals, exhibitions, holidays, and educational-cultural competitions for 2026,” approved by presidential decree on January 2, 2026. The initiative was launched by the National Library of Tajikistan for students enrolled in secondary and higher professional educational institutions.

Officials stated that the literary works of President Emomali Rahmon reflect the glorious history, language, civilization, and cultural heritage of the Tajik nation, while highlighting the efforts of the Tajik people to preserve their identity, traditions, and national values.
