Algiers, The Gulf Observer: Algeria’s Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of the National Community Abroad, Sofiane Chaib, chaired a virtual meeting on Saturday with heads and representatives of Algerian associations operating across the Federal Republic of Germany, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening ties with its citizens living abroad.

The videoconference was organized by the Algerian Embassy in Berlin and was attended by the Algerian Ambassador to Germany, the Consul General of Algeria in Frankfurt, and representatives of numerous Algerian community organizations active throughout the country, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In his opening remarks, Chaib highlighted the importance that Algeria’s highest authorities place on maintaining strong relations with members of the national community residing overseas. He emphasized the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance dialogue, coordination, and engagement with Algerians abroad while encouraging initiatives that contribute to the nation’s development and broader interests.

The Secretary of State noted that the government remains committed to creating effective channels of communication with expatriate communities and supporting their role in strengthening Algeria’s international presence and socioeconomic development.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on issues of interest to the Algerian diaspora in Germany and to discuss ways of reinforcing cooperation between community associations and Algerian diplomatic and consular institutions.

The initiative forms part of Algeria’s broader strategy to deepen engagement with its citizens abroad and encourage their participation in projects that support national development and strengthen ties between Algeria and its overseas communities.
