Uzbek President, Omani Economy Minister Discuss Expanding Trade, Investment and Strategic Cooperation

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation from the Sultanate of Oman led by Economy Minister Khamis bin Saif Al Jabri, who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
During the meeting, the Omani minister conveyed sincere greetings to President Mirziyoyev from Haitham bin Tariq Al Said. The two sides reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and discussed ways to deepen cooperation in trade, economic, investment, and financial sectors.
The discussions highlighted the growing momentum in Uzbekistan-Oman relations, marked by increasing trade turnover and expanding business contacts. Both sides noted the successful implementation of key initiatives through the Uzbekistan–Oman Investment Company, which has played a significant role in promoting joint investment projects.
The parties also welcomed the upcoming launch of direct flights between the capitals of the two countries next month, describing the development as an important step toward strengthening connectivity, tourism, and business exchanges.
An agreement was reached to convene the next meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission in Muscat later this year to further advance bilateral cooperation and explore new opportunities for partnership.
Particular attention was given to the promotion of promising joint projects in transportation, logistics, geology, e-commerce, digital infrastructure, and other strategic sectors aimed at enhancing economic ties and fostering sustainable development between the two countries.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of Uzbekistan and Oman to expanding mutually beneficial cooperation and strengthening long-term economic and investment partnerships.
