UAE President Receives Syrian Foreign Minister, Discusses Bilateral Cooperation and Regional Developments
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received His Excellency Asaad Al-Shaibani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic, during a meeting in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, where the two sides discussed bilateral relations, development cooperation, and regional issues of mutual concern.
At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Shaibani conveyed the greetings of Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa to Sheikh Mohamed, along with his wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of the United Arab Emirates.
Sheikh Mohamed, in turn, asked the Syrian foreign minister to convey his greetings to President Al-Sharaa and expressed his wishes for continued development, stability, and prosperity for Syria and its people.
During the discussions, the UAE President and the Syrian foreign minister reviewed the fraternal relations between the two countries and explored opportunities to enhance cooperation across a range of sectors, particularly in the fields of economic development and investment.
The two sides also discussed ways to support their respective development priorities, advance mutual interests, and contribute to the wellbeing and prosperity of their peoples.
Regional developments and issues of shared concern were also on the agenda, including the latest developments in the Middle East and efforts aimed at promoting regional stability and security.
The meeting reflected the commitment of both countries to strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation in areas that support sustainable development and economic growth.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; as well as a number of sheikhs and senior officials.
