Azerbaijan

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan has underscored the growing importance of its strategic partnership with Central Asian countries and the expanding opportunities for cooperation with Jordan, particularly in trade, transport, and energy.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Ayman Al Safadi, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said Azerbaijan maintains special relations with the countries of Central Asia, adding that the increasing significance of the Middle Corridor has created attractive investment prospects for Jordanian businesses.

Bayramov noted that the strategic transport route has gained considerable importance in recent years, enhancing regional connectivity and opening new avenues for trade and investment between Asia, the Caucasus, and Europe.

The Azerbaijani foreign minister also highlighted the country’s expanding energy cooperation, stating that since August last year Azerbaijan has broadened the geography of its energy exports.

He said Azerbaijan has commenced energy exports to Syria, describing the development as an important step that creates new opportunities for cooperation and investment in energy supplies to a country neighboring Jordan.

Bayramov emphasized that the expansion of Azerbaijan’s regional energy network and transport connectivity offers additional prospects for strengthening economic partnerships and attracting investment, while reinforcing the country’s role as a key regional hub linking Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and the Middle East.
