4th Shusha Global Media Forum to Focus on Media’s Role in Promoting Peace and Rebuilding Trust

Rebuilding Trust

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan will host the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum on July 13–14 under the theme, “The Mission of Media in Promoting Peace: Restoring Truth and Rebuilding Trust,” bringing together leading journalists, media executives, policymakers, and experts from around the world to discuss the evolving role of the media in fostering peace, combating disinformation, and strengthening public trust.

The forum, which has emerged as a prestigious international platform for dialogue on global media issues, is expected to welcome nearly 160 participants from 54 countries, including representatives of around 30 international news agencies, more than 60 leading media organisations, and nearly 10 international organisations and companies.

The two-day event will feature panel discussions, interactive sessions, and bilateral meetings focusing on a wide range of contemporary issues affecting the global media landscape. Key themes include the media’s contribution to peacebuilding, cross-border media dialogue, restoring public confidence in journalism, enhancing international cooperation against disinformation, creating a secure digital information environment, and promoting media ethics and responsible journalism in the age of artificial intelligence.

Organisers said the forum aims to encourage responsible media practices while contributing to practical initiatives designed to rebuild trust among societies, strengthen digital solidarity, and support international peace and stability.

The Shusha Global Media Forum traces its origins to the first International Media Forum held in 2022 under the theme “Global Trends in the Media, New Challenges.” It has since evolved into an annual international gathering addressing critical developments in the global information space.

The inaugural Shusha Global Media Forum in 2023 focused on “New Media in the Era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” followed by the 2024 edition on “Unmasking False Narratives: Confronting Disinformation,” while the 2025 forum explored “Digital Pathways: Strengthening Information and Media Resilience in the Age of AI.”

Over the past three editions, the forum has brought together nearly 600 prominent media representatives, experts, and government officials from 81 countries, reinforcing its status as a leading international platform for advancing dialogue on global media challenges and opportunities.

Building on previous discussions surrounding digital transformation, artificial intelligence, media resilience, and international cooperation against disinformation, the fourth edition will further examine these issues in light of emerging global challenges, with a particular emphasis on the media’s responsibility in promoting truth, trust, and peaceful international engagement.
