Elena Rybakina Advances to Toronto WTA 1000 Final

Toronto, The Gulf Observer: Kazakhstan’s top-ranked women’s singles player Elena Rybakina advanced to the final of the 2026 WTA 1000 National Bank Open in Toronto after defeating world No. 4 Coco Gauff of the United States in a three-set semifinal.

The world No. 2 and second-seeded Rybakina recovered from losing the opening set to overcome Gauff 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 in a match that lasted two hours and two minutes.

Rybakina produced a strong performance in the decisive stages, recording five aces and converting four of 11 break-point opportunities, while committing just one double fault.

The victory secured Rybakina’s place in the Toronto final, where she will face world No. 7 Iga Swiatek of Poland.

Swiatek earned her place in the championship match by defeating Ukraine’s world No. 9 Elina Svitolina in the other semifinal.

The upcoming final will see two of the leading players in women’s tennis compete for the WTA 1000 title in Toronto, with Rybakina seeking to cap her impressive tournament run with another major career triumph.
