King Mohammed VI Sends Condolences to Norway Following Death of King Harald V

Rabat, The Gulf Observer: King Mohammed VI of Morocco has sent a message of condolences to Norway’s new sovereign, King Haakon VIII, following the death of his father, King Harald V, the Royal Palace in Rabat announced on Friday.

In his message, King Mohammed VI expressed deep sadness over the passing of King Harald V, praising the late monarch for his lifelong service to the Norwegian people and his role in embodying the unity of the Norwegian nation.

On his own behalf, as well as on behalf of the Moroccan Royal Family and the Moroccan people, King Mohammed VI conveyed his heartfelt condolences and sympathy to King Haakon VIII, Queen Sonja, the Royal Family of Norway and the Norwegian people during this time of mourning.

King Harald V died peacefully at Oslo University Hospital on Friday at the age of 89, bringing an end to his 35-year reign, which began in 1991. He was succeeded by his son, King Haakon VIII.
