Russia Offers to Help Arabian Peninsula Countries Restore Damaged Oil Refineries

Russia

Moscow, The Gulf Observer: Russia has offered assistance to countries in the Arabian Peninsula to restore oil refineries damaged during the recent Middle East crisis, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov said on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters, Alikhanov said the current situation was testing international partnerships, highlighting Russia’s offer to support regional partners in restoring their damaged refining facilities.

“All the global partnerships undergo a strength test now. When oil refineries were hit in the Middle East crisis, we offered help in their restoring to colleagues in the Arabian Peninsula,” the minister said.

Alikhanov also highlighted the progress of Russia’s oil and gas equipment industry, stating that domestic manufacturers had developed sufficient technological capabilities to offer an alternative to international technology licensors.

He noted that Russia had established its own system of industrial standards for the sector, designed to compete with standards developed by the American Petroleum Institute (API).

According to the minister, these Russian standards are gradually gaining recognition among Arab partners, reflecting expanding industrial cooperation between Russia and countries in the region.

The offer underscores Moscow’s interest in strengthening energy-sector partnerships with Arabian Peninsula countries by providing industrial expertise, equipment and potential technical support for the restoration of damaged oil infrastructure.
