Russia Seeks Lasting Peace in Ukraine Rather Than Temporary Ceasefire: Kremlin Spokesman

Moscow, The Gulf Observer: Russia is interested in achieving a lasting and sustainable peace in Ukraine rather than a temporary ceasefire, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov has said, emphasizing that Moscow’s objective is to secure long-term stability for future generations.
In an interview with the US television channel NBC News, Peskov stated that ongoing negotiations should not be interpreted as an effort to establish a ceasefire, stressing that Russia seeks a comprehensive peace agreement instead.
“Talks do not mean ceasefire and we do not want ceasefire, we want peace,” Peskov said.
He further underscored that Russia’s objective was to establish what he described as “continuous peace for future generations.”
Peskov’s remarks highlighted Moscow’s stated position that diplomatic efforts should focus on achieving a durable resolution to the Ukraine conflict rather than a temporary halt in hostilities.
