Presidents of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan hold telephone conversation

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on Wednesday.

The Uzbek President cordially congratulated the leader of Tajikistan on his 70th birthday, sincerely expressing his best wishes for health, well-being and great success, as well as peace and prosperity for the fraternal Tajik people.

Particularly noted was the role of President Emomali Rahmon in the development of modern Tajikistan and raising the country’s international prestige, in achieving the current highest level of Uzbek-Tajik relations of friendship and good neighborliness, strategic partnership and alliance.

During the conversation, issues of practical implementation of previously reached agreements and agreements were considered. The launch of the Joint Investment Fund, designed to promote priority cooperation projects in industry, agriculture, energy, transport and other key areas, was noted with satisfaction.

The importance of further expanding active interregional contacts, holding joint business and cultural events in the two countries was emphasized.

An exchange of views took place on topical issues on the regional agenda, and a schedule of upcoming multilateral meetings was considered.

The telephone conversation between the President of Uzbekistan and the President of Tajikistan took place in a traditionally open, warm and friendly atmosphere.
