Pope Francis receives UAE Ambassador to Spain
VATICAN, TGO: His Holiness Pope Francis, Head of the Catholic Church, received Majid Hassan Al Suwaidi, UAE Ambassador to Spain.
During the meeting, Al Suwaidi conveyed to Pope Francis, the greetings and best wishes of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
For his side, His Holiness extended his greetings and best wishes to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the meeting, Ambassador Al Suwaidi highlighted the deep-rooted ties between the UAE and the Vatican, and their ongoing cooperation to promote the values of tolerance, peace and interfaith dialogue. He also stressed the UAE’s keenness to reinforce its cooperation with the Vatican.
Meanwhile, Pope Francis said that the Vatican and the UAE have strong relations, which have witnessed significant development in recent years, especially in terms of consolidating interfaith dialogue and promoting peace among all people.
His Holiness also commended the projects that the UAE has adopted to promote tolerance and coexistence, on top of which is the Abrahamic Family House project.
