Omani citizens evacuate from Sudan

Muscat, The Gulf Observer: The Sultanate of Oman evacuated a number of Omani citizens and Sudanese families residing in the Sultanate from Sudan, and secured their arrival to the Sultanate of Oman.

The Foreign Ministry said in a statement: “The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman to the brotherly Republic of Sudan has evacuated a number of Omani citizens and their families, along with a number of Sudanese families residing in the Sultanate of Oman, from the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, the city of Omdurman and other regions and secured their arrival to the Sultanate of Oman.”

“Efforts are still ongoing to evacuate a number of other citizens and residents in other Sudanese cities,” the Ministry added.

The Ministry expressed the Sultanate of Oman’s appreciation to the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the cooperation of its competent authorities in facilitating the evacuation process through the city of Jeddah, through the Royal Saudi Navy, and the Sultanate’s appreciation to the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt in facilitating the entry of a number of those evacuated through its land ports.
