Jordan, Iraq emphasize bilateral cooperation

Baghdad, The Gulf Observer: Jordan and Iraq emphasized the importance of overcoming obstacles hindering the advancement of bilateral relations and the necessity of joint efforts towards developing economic and trade relations as a fundamental pillar supporting these ties.

In a joint statement held between Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, Jordan’s Prime Minister, and his Iraqi counterpart Muhammad Shia’a Sudani, in Baghdad on Monday, the two parts emphasized the importance of implementing the agreements reached during the 29th session of the Iraqi-Jordanian Joint Committee and the signed documents at the end of its proceedings.

According to the statement reported by Jordan News Agency (PETRA), the discussions focused on mechanisms to enhance trade volume and the significance of expanding cooperation in economic, trade and investment fields.

They also highlighted the support of the private sector’s role in increasing trade exchange between the two countries, in addition to cooperation in the energy and oil sectors.

They further aimed to strengthen food integration and increase the strategic stock of essential commodities in both nations.

The two sides also discussed several Arab issues and affirmed their continued work, coordination, and consultation in their efforts to resolve regional crises and serve Arab causes to achieve security and stability in the region.
